A True Farm to Table Eatery
The Copper Hen Cakery & Kitchen is a diamond in the rough. Its cuisine and ambiance reflect times gone by and remind you of what home cooking is all about. A true farm to table eatery, Copper Hen sources the majority of their ingredients locally and makes everything, and I mean everything, from scratch. Danielle Bjorling, co-owner of Copper Hen alongside her husband Chris, described her vision for the cuisine, “When developing the menu I thought about working on the farm all day long with Grandma hard at work in the kitchen making everything by hand. Our menu reflects what I thought she would set down on the table.” We at Thatcher’s Organic Spirits are proud to be a part of Copper Hen’s hand-crafted cocktail menu.
Located in Minneapolis, Copper Hen offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, but is best known for their top notch brunches. Thatcher’s Organic Artisan Spirits supports farm to table concepts and believes that what we put in our bodies matters.
Have Your Cake and Drink It Too
Creativity is also at the heart of this establishment. Not only a restaurant, but also a well known cakery, The Copper Hen threads the sweet side of things into all their dishes, and even their drinks! Their house made Bloody Mary drinks are two great examples of this. Their standard Bloody Mary is made with spices, tomato juice and Thatcher’s Organic Vodka. It’s made complete with a mini Bacon Blueberry Breakfast Cupcake garnish and a mason jar saison beer chaser. Their Spicy Bloody Mary is made with Thatcher’s Vodka infused with peppers in-house. They add spices, tomato juice, and garnish it with a mini donut muffin and pepper stuffed olive to make this drink seem more like a dessert than a cocktail. Served with a cider mason jar chaser, it’s perfect for someone who wants to have their cake and drink it too.
The Copper Hen just celebrated its two-year anniversary this past month and has grown tremendously since it opened. Stop by for a handcrafted cocktail or stay awhile and enjoy some of the best farm to table fare around. This is the kind of place that stands by their word to deliver a flavorful meal that customers can trust is “real food”. We say cheers to that!
