5 Fresh Cocktails Made with Whole Foods Products

March 2, 2023

Our team loves organic ingredients, so obviously we make the run to Whole Foods Market on the weekly for fresh greens and fancy hummus. While there we’re constantly searching for new ingredients and unique flavors to try in fresh cocktail recipes. The fresh cocktails here use vodka and liqueurs that are certified organic and free from preservatives and GMOs (hello, Thatcher’s Organic Artisan Spirits) paired with always-fresh Whole Foods ingredients. Check them out below and tell us what you think on social media using #thatchersorganic.

Green Machine

A sparkling combo of strawberry and cucumber for a fresh cocktail twist.

1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Cucumber Liqueur
1 oz Coppercraft Gin
2 oz Whole Foods Organic Green Aide Cold Pressed Juice
3-4 oz Whole Foods’ Waterloo Strawberry Sparkling Water
Cucumber, garnish
Strawberry, garnish

Combine Thatcher’s Organic Cucumber Liqueur, Coppercraft Gin, and Whole Foods Organic Green Aide Cold Pressed Juice in a glass filled with ice. Top with Whole Foods’ Strawberry Sparkling Water and garnish with a cucumber and strawberry slice.

Sparkling Watermelon Mint Vodka Cocktail

Add watermelon and small batch vodka to your grocery list.

1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka
2 cups diced fresh seedless watermelon
2 sprigs of fresh mint
8 oz Whole Foods’ Nixie Watermelon Mint Sparkling Water
Ice

Wash the watermelon and cut into slices. Reserve a few slices of watermelon for garnish and cut the rest into pieces, discarding the rind. Working in batches, fill a blender about three-quarters full with watermelon pieces. Blend until smooth. Pour the pureed watermelon into a fine-mesh sieve over top of a large bowl to strain out the pulp and seeds. Press down to release all of the juice. Massage the fresh mint in your hands to help to release some of its aromatic oils. Fill your favorite tall glass with ice. Pour in the watermelon juice. Add the Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka. Top with sparkling water and stir. Add the sprigs of fresh mint, submerging them slightly into the drink. Garnish with a slice of watermelon and extra mint.

Apple Cider Vodka Cocktail

Experiment with some fig, vodka, and apple cider for a unique cocktail.

2 oz Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka
3 oz Whole Foods’ North Coast Apple Cider
1 oz Whole Foods’ Fever-Tree Club Soda
1 tsp Whole Foods’ Organic Adraitic Fig Spread
Handful of ice
Fresh figs, garnish
Apple slices, garnish
Orange zest, garnish
Cinnamon stick, garnish

Put apple cider and fig jam into a cocktail shaker and shake well. For best results, you can also whisk the fig jam if it’s not mixing well. Add Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka and ice and shake again. Add more ice to a small glass and strain the mixture into it. Garnish with fresh figs, apple slices, orange zest, and/or a cinnamon stick.
