Valentine’s Day is on its way, and one way to get the atmosphere set is with these creative, romance-inducing aphrodisiac cocktails.
Natural aphrodisiacs have been used to set the mood long before strawberries dipped in chocolate were even invented. It’s no secret that booze can help ease the nerves, but the right ingredients in your drink can help add a little extra heat to the night. Craft your own aphrodisiac drink with these recipes that incorporate easy-to-find (and yes, delicious) romance inducing ingredients.
4 Romantic Aphrodisiac Cocktails
Some Like it Hot (Aphrodisiac: Jalapeño)
Turn up the temperature fast with this spicy drink.
- 1.5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Vodka
- .5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur
- 1 Jalapeño
- 1 bar spoon of agave
- .5 oz lime juice
- 2-3 oz grapefruit soda
- 1 jalapeño, garnish
Clean the jalapeño, remove the seeds and chop. In a cocktail shaker, muddle jalapeño slices, lime juice, and Thatcher’s blood orange liqueur. Add the ice, agave and Thatcher’s Organic Vodka and shake until chilled. Strain into a highball with fresh ice, top with grapefruit soda, and garnish with jalapeño.
Makin’ Me Blush (Aphrodisiac: Cherry)
If your sweetie loves sweets, this is the cocktail for them.
- 1.5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Prickly Pear Liqueur
- 2 oz sake
- .5 oz cherry liqueur
- .5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Cherry, garnish
- Granulated sugar, garnish
Garnish a glass with granulated sugar using lemon juice and set aside. In a cocktail shaker, pour the sake, Thatcher’s Organic Prickly Pear Liqueur, cherry liqueur, and lemon juice. Fill with ice. Shake well. Strain into the prepared glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a cherry.
Manzarita (Aphrodisiac: Cinnamon)
Shake it up with a little dash of spice.
- 1 oz silver tequila
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Elderflower Liqueur
- 3 oz apple juice
- 1 dash cinnamon
- 3 wedges lemon
- Cinnamon, lemon
Muddle the lemon wedges and cinnamon in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
Add ice, and the remaining ingredients, and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass full of ice and garnish with lemon and cinnamon.

Blood Orange and Ginger Boston Sour (Aphrodisiac: Ginger)
Ginger is known for its soothing and stimulating qualities, need we say more?
- 2 oz Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- .5 oz ginger liqueur
- 1 egg white (optional)
- Blood orange slices, garnish
Combine bourbon, lemon juice, liqueur, and egg white in a cocktail shaker, fill halfway with ice, secure lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass and top with a blood orange slice.
