Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory over an invading French army and honors Mexican heritage and independence. It’s remembered annually, with people of all backgrounds coming together to celebrate. Our team came together to craft four refreshing margarita recipes to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Try them below:
Prickly Pear Margarita
A classic margarita with a prickly twist.
.5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Prickly Pear Liqueur
1.5 oz tequila blanco
2 oz pear juice
1 oz lime juice
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into rocks glass. Garnish with prickly pear or cactus leaf.
Cucumber Margarita
A margarita straight from the garden.
1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Cucumber Liqueur
2 oz tequila blanco
1 oz simple syrup
1 oz lime juice
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into rocks glass. Garnish with a cucumber wedge.
Elderflower Margarita
A classic margarita with a hint of floral.
1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Elderflower Liqueur
2 oz tequila blanco
1 oz simple syrup
1 oz lime juice
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into rocks glass. Garnish with lime wedge.
Spicy Margarita
Inspired by this recipe from Liquor.com.
.5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur
2 oz tequila blanco
1 oz lime juice
.5 oz agave syrup
2 jalapeño coins, seeds removed
1 lime wedge
Rub the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge and dip the rim in salt to coat. Add jalapeño coins to shaker and muddle. Combine ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake and strain into rocks glass. Garnish with a jalapeño coin.
