Our team loves organic ingredients, so obviously we make the run to Whole Foods Market on the weekly for fresh greens and fancy hummus. While there, we’re constantly searching for new ingredients and unique flavors to try in fresh cocktail recipes. The fresh cocktails here use vodka and liqueurs that are certified organic and free from preservatives and GMOs (hello, Thatcher’s Organic Artisan Spirits) paired with always-fresh Whole Foods ingredients. Sparkling Watermelon Mint Vodka Cocktail
Add watermelon and small batch vodka to your grocery list.
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka
- 2 cups diced fresh seedless watermelon
- 2 sprigs of fresh mint
- 8 oz Whole Foods’ Nixie Watermelon Mint Sparkling Water
- Ice
Wash the watermelon and cut into slices. Reserve a few slices of watermelon for garnish and cut the rest into pieces, discarding the rind. Working in batches, fill a blender about three-quarters full with watermelon pieces. Blend until smooth. Pour the pureed watermelon into a fine-mesh sieve over top of a large bowl to strain out the pulp and seeds. Press down to release all of the juice. Massage the fresh mint in your hands to help to release some of its aromatic oils. Fill your favorite tall glass with ice. Pour in the watermelon juice. Add the Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka. Top with sparkling water and stir. Add the sprigs of fresh mint, submerging them slightly into the drink. Garnish with a slice of watermelon and extra mint.
