Cocktail recipes for the characters and the big feelings of Inside Out 2.
Inside Out 2 hits theaters on June 14, and we’ve made some cocktails for the premiere! The Pixar sequel is a treat for both kids and adults, bringing Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust back to the screen, along with new characters: Ennui, Embarrassment, Envy, and Anxiety. These delightful drinks are inspired by the memorable characters that inhabit the mind of 15-year-old Riley—cocktails for grown-ups only!
Anxiety
What drink would you make to soothe poor beleaguered Anxiety?
- 2 oz Coppercraft Gin
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur
- 1 oz orange juice
- 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- Ice cubes
- Orange peel, garnish
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the one sprig of rosemary gently with the orange juice. Add gin and Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange liqueur, and a handful of ice cubes to the shaker. Shake the mixture well for about 15-20 seconds to chill the ingredients. Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass filled with ice cubes. Stick the remaining two rosemary sprigs into glass so they stand straight up.
Joy
A bright lemony cocktail for the happiest character!
- .5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka
- .5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Peach Liqueur
- .5 oz limoncello
- 3 oz lemon-lime soda
- Lemon, garnish
Combine all ingredients in a highball glass. Stir and garnish with a lemon slice.
Sadness
Maybe this blue cocktail will be what cheers Sadness up.
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Elderflower Liqueur
- .5 oz blue Curaçao liqueur
- .75 oz lime juice
- 3 dashes of orange bitters
Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled Coupe glass.
Anger
For this fiery emotion we crafted up a spicy cocktail.
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur
- 1 oz Mezcal
- .75 oz lime juice
- .75 oz orgeat
- 3 dash hot sauce
- Ice
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake. Pour into an Old Fashioned glass over ice. Garnish the cocktail with a few extra drops of hot sauce on top.
Fear
Fear nothing with this floral forward and subtle cocktail!
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Hibiscus Liqueur
- 1.5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Elderflower Liqueur
- 1 oz lemonade
- 1 oz rose water
- Soda water
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake. Pour into two Collins glasses and top with soda water. Garnish cocktail with lemon wheel.
Disgust
Even the green Disgust couldn’t turn their nose up at this chartreuse cocktail.
- 1.5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Small Batch Vodka
- .5 oz Thatcher’s Organic Cucumber Liqueur
- .75 oz Chartreuse Liqueur
- .75 oz lime juice
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Cucumber slice, garnish
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into Coupe glass and garnish with cucumber.
